This was the drawing I sent to the 9th International Art Competition of my Church, whose theme was "Make Known his wonderful works", inspired by D&C 65:4: "Pray unto the Lord, call upon his holy name, make known his wonderful works among the people.".
I decided to portray the missionary work and the growth of the Church throughout the ages: a prophet of the Old Testament, a lamanite missionary; Samuel Smith, the first missionary to be called in this last dispensation, and a missionary of these latter days. Can you identify the other scenes I drew?
Unfortunately I did not pass to the next stage, but that's okay, because I had the privilege to attend the Ceremony of awards by satellite transmission, and I could strengthen my testimony of Jesus Christ and of the Church while making this drawing. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Church. This is a work inspired by God.
A tip: the next contest will be hold in 2015, and the theme will be "Tell Me the Stories of Jesus". It is never too early to start thinking about a drawing ... And this year, until June, the Church will be accepting entries for the 1st Art Competition for young people. Good Luck!
This is a beautiful piece of work! I LOVE the colors, the detail you put into each missionary and their background, and how the background pictures fit each time period! Thanks for sharing! This is so good it should be in all of the Church history museums, I think.
